I don't think the coaches care. how in the hell cant they care. they know the team is badly selected with too many Bajans. they can prolly already identify better players they are not allowed to coach..who are not selected. and they know not to antagonize their employers

Toby whats his name has been around a long time. that means..can only mean that he and the cWI see eye to eye so he is set for life.

Toby is ordinary english..he has a very well paying job in the west indies..warmth, food, access to all levels of the society because he is white and a cricket coach. he would have housing in exclusive areas. I mean the english aristocracy wont piss on on him in the UK far less to shake his hand. in the west indies a prime minister would shake his hand

and all he has to do for all that is to pretend to coach the west indies and project the interest of the cWI. what cud possibly be better?

in Tricy we call dat 'suckeye'

horrible performance

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

anomaly seems a real good word here..apt, precise! but maybe if we look at the Pakistani and English sides they beat we can get some clarity..

if I recall the Pakistani team was in transition..or was about to lose some old great players, to present an all but new suspect team to the world.

the English team had changed also..Root was the new captain. the team no doubt had to adjust. they still had Anderson and Broad but for a minute they had a vulnerability which came in handy for the west indies. the conditions for the cricket were also better and did not harm west indian chances

I am sure if we analyze carefully we will find logic in the west indies wins that would make them normal and likely at the time. but whatever they were they have disappeared and things are back to normal with our very ordinary team unable to make its own luck, to hold its own or change the course of games regardless of conditions

however both those teams have progressed and we can be certain that west indies can not defeat them with this very same team that one games off them as noted above.

both the English and Paks are better now but the west indies are not. the English and Pak wins were bumps and we have re-settled on our lower rung

Anomaly..we hit high but unexpected notes and are now back down to our normal registers?

anyhow I cant separate the cWI team from the cWI itself. the cWI cannot produce a winning team.

the cWI is its own defeat, its own failure. all cWI success will be anomalous..hitting unexpected high notes...sooprise sopranos when one expects the same ordinary mid-range

the cWI is first and foremost an exploitative, extractive factor that all involved are aware of. they know they are ripping off the cricket and are aware of the fact that the first order of business is to keep the team under control. that being said then they are always parsing cricket personalities to keep the 'unmanageable' player out, the revolutionary types.

such type has no chance any more in west indies cricket..will not get a look in no matter how good they are. but there are other types who will be loathe to play for the west indies..those who want to max their time out for relevant money which the cWI does not pay.

the Yaady Russell comes to mind. he I don't think is a revolutionary type..just a man who wants to make the most money he can, while he can with the talent he has. I also think that little Darren Bravo has woken up to that realization and is loathe to play for the cWI anymore..if he can get other well paying work.

the clear principle is 'why play for the cWI when the cWI is looking after itself..and only after itself with the cricket revenues?'

so right there the cWI has a problem with the talent..limiting itself by parsing out unwanted personalities, and driving others away who are no satisfied with cWI pay scales.

then of course cWI does that also with all whom they hire to work for the administration...they parse for the nasty types who are comfortable with such exploitation, who would be loyal to the admin. the coach Toby whatshisname comes to mind as exemplary in this regard.

and any possibly sincere coach like Stuart Law seems to be would be frustrated out of their wits coaching teams selected like this one is by a ridiculously sectarian and insular selection committed which has also been parsed for their loyalty to the cWI, and selection capability only afterwards

those conditions defeat the purpose in principle on which the cWI functions..'the well being of west indies cricket, the production of winning, world beating teams' that in fact, if it ever was, clearly not the purpose in the operation of the cWI. and therefore it never happens. west indies has not approached producing a winning test team since 1995..not even close. and getting no closer all the way to this current day
