A session in the Black Caps nets is all business, with a side of banter.

New Zealand got their test match preparation under way in Wellington on Tuesday, taking to the Basin Reserve nets as they got ready for the challenge of the West Indies.

On Friday, they'll walk into the middle for real, ready for five days of hard slog.

They will take the park having done all they could in training to simulate what will come in the game, facing up to a bevy of bowlers from the local club competition, and the Black Caps players themselves.
