THE Windies have won their first Test match in 17 years against England, in England, but one Cricket West Indies (CWI) director is particularly concerned about the use of the side’s specialist spinner.
Anand Sanasie, secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) and CWI director for Guyana questioned the use of the Berbician Devendra Bishoo in the second Test which the West Indies won yesterday by five wickets.
Speaking exclusively to Chronicle Sport yesterday, the CWI director said, “I’m worried that you play a specialist spinner and he doesn’t bowl as much as he is supposed to.â€
“I don’t know if he is carrying an injury or something but that should be the only thing that keeps him from bowling a full complement of overs for the Test match,†he said.

West Indies captain Jason Holder’s use of Bishoo came into question by television commentators after the leg-break bowler only got the nod for six overs in the first innings and 25 in the second – a combined total of 31 for the entire second Test.
The use of the 31-year-old was questioned by fans and analysts on social media with many not able to understand his underutilisation.
Sanasie, however, was quick to point out that there were a host of positives out of the win, saying that the victory represented a rebirth of the Maroon side.
“It’s a rebuilding process, it’s a bright young team and it can only move to better things from here. I hope when they move to Lord’s they can do the same,†Sanasie said.
“As a director, it’s been tough but I think we are turning the corner with these kind of performances. I always say that as a director of the WICB and secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board that you have to win on the field of play and once you can do that then something good is happening.â€

that is nonsense! what rebirth. he better be patient and watch how things go yet.
and the issue is Bishoo..and how he was used by Jase. he shud have stuck to that.
the answer is yes..jase used Bish poorly..and not at all. that is not good for effect and for team chemistry
Bish is an important member of that side..he shud never have been dropped for the first test. law an' dem have to rationalize that situation. Jase is not handling the situation well

Spinners workload should be TWICE the amount of your Fast bowlers
meaning Roach and Gabe bowled avg. 18 overs Bishoo should bowl more.
instead he bowl 6 overs

But Holder is captain and he is comfy with him countryman Chase
so Bishoo gets marginalised...

if he wants Chase as a bowler drop his skunk dong the order because he is not bowling and scoring at the same time. it is clear Chase is now very focused on his bowling..too much so.
drop him dong to number 8 den.. drop Bishoo and pik another batsman to take Chase place.
it is either dat or put the bat back in Chase hands and the ball into Bishoo's

its 2 tests...4 innings and I don't think Chase tallies 50 total runs yet. does he ::confused::
if he does its not much more than fifty
that's totally unacceptable for a test batsman.
Jase must play Chase as a batsman..period. >
