He is right in the fact that English cricket does need to change, but I'm not sure if this is the right sort of change it was looking for. All forms of cricket here in England as become a bit stagnant and what the game needs in my opinion is to attract new fans through the turnstiles and I'm not sure that will do this.
Cricket fans tend to enjoy all formats of the game (to various degrees) so I have no doubt that this will be embraced as well but mainly from those that already go and watch the sport. Will it tempt people who don't watch cricket now into wanting to go and watch it? I'm not too sure but I'm guessing not. Time will tell I guess, but I suppose the one positive is that new ideas are being tried at least whereas in the past they wouldn't have even been contemplated.
