Former manager of the West Indies cricket team Omar Khan has come out with some fiery comments, after witnessing the West Indies go down to another “whitewash†against an International cricket team.
Khan, who managed the West Indies in 2006, gaining draws against England and a win over Sri Lanka in two Test series, flew into Barbados to witness the last ODI game against England and was left angry after the performance of the West Indies team.
The West Indies lost the final game of the series by 183 runs— their largest defeat to England—to lose the three-match series 3-0. Khan responding to this said: “It is really disheartening and disappointing to see the way the West Indies are playing at the moment. The way they went about their business and I say business because this is business, sport is serious business, I looked at the body language and they did not look like professionals. If you look at England team they came out there with a purpose and was professional, clinical. They looked more like models and not professionals.â€
Khan who is manager of the Guyana Amazon Warriors added: “Our players need to understand what is professionalism, what it means to represent the people of the region, what it takes to win, the value of working together and valuing one another. While we may have some brilliant individual performances at times, they need to understand that individual performances alone will not bring the team success. Everyone has to be on the same page.
“The body language they put out was not good at all against the English, it was as if they were defeated from the get go. Someone needs to tell the players that body language represents 67 percent of the communication that one sends and it is important to be positive.â€

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
