Guyana Jaguars complete third consecutive win

GUYANA Jaguars completed their third consecutive victory in the Regional Super50 tournament last evening when they defeated the Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners by six wickets at the Kensington Oval, Barbados. The day/night encounter was not relatively an easy one for the Jaguars, despite their bowlers producing a disciplined bowling effort to dismiss the Marooners for 188 in 49.2 overs.
Ronsford Beaton takes 3-52

West Indies A team fast bowler, Ronsford Beaton led the way, with 3-52. Veerasammy Permaul had 2-29, while Raymon Reifer (1-38), Paul Wintz (1-41), and Steven Jacobs (1-22), all contributed a wicket apiece.
None of the Marooners batsmen passed 30, with Amir Jangoo making exactly 30, Jamal Smith 28, and Nino Henry 26.
In reply, Jaguars accomplished the winning target, with 4.1 overs to spare, but not before skipper Leon Johnson and Shivnarine Chanderpaul had completed half-centuries.
Johnson made 71, while the 42-year-old Chnaderpaul finished unbeaten on 58.
Jaguars lost Test opener Rajendra Chandrika (9) and Former West Indies Under-19 captain Shimron Hetmyer (5) early, but Assad Fudadin and Johnson then steadied the innings before Fudadin went for 25.

Johnson was joined by Chanderpaul, and together carried the Jaguars within victory before Johnson was dismissed.
Chanderpaul, who became the highest runs-scorer in 50-over in Regional cricket, surpassing the previous record set by Floyd Reifer (2 878 runs), and Christopher Barnwell (11 not out), took the Jaguars home without further trouble, at 189-4.
