Young cricketer Pranav Dhanawade, who shot to fame after he scored a mind-boggling 1,009 not out in a school match, was taken into police custody on Sunday after he allegedly objected to vacate a playground, which was to be used as a helipad for Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar's visit.
Dhanawade, who was practicing at the Subhash ground in Kalyan, was asked to leave along with his friends by a guard. The boys soon got into an argument with the constables on duty and Dhanawade was taken to the police station for clarification.
He was later let off with a warning.
After he smashed the world-record unbeaten 1,009 earlier this year, Dhanawade was awarded a monthly scholarship for five years from the Mumbai Cricket Association.
Minister Javadekar, meanwhile, was quoted as saying by a TV channel, "It is not proper to make use of the play grounds for helipad hence I would be travelling by road and will not use the helicopter this time."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
