Shannon Gabriel picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket as West Indies bowled Pakistan out for 452 an hour after lunch on day two of the Abu Dhabi Test. Gabriel and Jason Holder rushed through Pakistan's lower order, taking the last four wickets in the space of 8.4 overs. Pakistan added 40 runs in that period, though, most of them coming from the bat of Sohail Khan, who hit five fours in a run-a-ball 26.

The flurry of wickets began in the second over after lunch, when he speared a reverse-swinging 152kph full-toss between Sarfraz Ahmed's bat and pad and hit the base of off stump. Sarfraz had just stroked him for two fours in four balls and moved past the half-century mark. The wicket ended a 70-run seventh-wicket partnership between Sarfraz and Mohammad Nawaz.

How the ankle injury he picked up in Australia changed him.

"Coming back from Australia, I had time to reflect and come up with different ways of improving my career. I decided to get fitter; I knew once I got fitter, I'll be able to bowl better for longer.

Plus, I've been trying a few things and I've been given the encouragement from Roddy [Estwick, West Indies' bowling coach], so I am just lucky to be able to go out there and back my skills and ability and put all that I have practiced into the game."

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
