Spin continued to dominate in the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force trial match, as Ricky Jaipual snatched a five-wicket haul on the last day of the match at the ECIAF Ground in Mausica, Arouca yesterday.
Left-arm spinner Jaipaul, who has played three First Class matches for TT, grabbed five wickets for nine runs in five overs for the (Yannic) Cariah XI to help dismiss the (Yannick) Ottley XI for 64 chasing 183 for victory.
Daniel St Clair topscored for the Ottley XI with an unbeaten 19, while leg-spinner Bryan Charles (2/9) and pacer Roshan Primus (2/19) bagged two wickets apiece.
Wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo (52) was the only batsman to score a half century in the match, while spin bowlers Kavesh Kantasingh (4/7), Imran Khan (4/29) and Jon Russ Jagessar (4/56 and 2/18) all had top performances during the contest.
The national cricketers are preparing for the Regional Four Day Tournament which bowls off in November.

Cariah XI won by 118 runs.
