West Indies A team named !

ST JOHN’S, Antigua - The Selection Panel of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced two “A” 14-man squads for the Four-Day and One-Day match series against Sri Lanka. The series will consist of three 4-day and three one-day matches to run from October 1 to November 1.


A Team - Four (4) Day

Rajendra Chandrika, Kieran Powell, Evin Lewis, Vishual Singh (Vice Captain)

Shamarh Brooks (Captain), Shimron Hetmyer, Jahmar Hamilton

Damion Jacobs, Rahkeem Cornwall, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai

Kemar Roach, Keon Joseph, Delorn Johnson, Reynard Leveridge

ODI squad

Jason Mohammed (Captain), Rovman Powell, Andre Fletcher (Vice Captain)

Kyle Hope, Chadwick Walton, Andre McCarty, Assad Fudadin, Veerasammy Permaul,

Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Damion Jacobs, Delorn Johnson, Ronsford Beaton

Kesrick Williams, Kyle Mayers

I'd guess that Lewis and Singh are the most likely to be called up into the Test squad in the near future. Delorn Johnson also, with Motie and Hetmyer one's for the future.

Some rough looking first-class batting averages in there, all hovering around the mid-20s. Eeks.

I've not seen anything of Keon Joseph. Any potential there? Or just filler?

looks like the saying Permaul not good for the long version

Permaul has put up some very good first-class numbers since 2015: 42 wickets at an average of 22.80 and a strike-rate of 58.21.

Motie's have been even better: 40 wickets at an average of 13.50 and a strike-rate of 37.65.

We need Batsmen whom can Occupy !

Chance for Hetmeyer to do just that.
