Heavy overnight and morning showers which left sections of the outfield waterlogged prevented any play on the third and final day of the first round game in the Guyana Cricket Board Jaguars three-day league between Georgetown and East Bank Demerara at the Everest Cricket Club yesterday.
This picture tells it all yesterday at Everest Cricket Club. East Bank collected 6.4 points, while Georgetown got 6.3. Batting a second time, East Bank were 68-5 at stumps on the second day, leading by 74. Sherfene Rutherford was unbeaten on 12 and skipper Steven Jacobs on two. Ryan Shun (02), Tevin Imlach (01), Mark Robhe (07), Buddan Baksh (00) and Trevon Griffith (36) were the batsmen back in the pavilion. Andre Stoll and Gajnanan Suknanan had two wickets each and Kellon Carmichael one.
Earlier, Georgetown were bowled out for 186 in reply to East Bank first innings score of 192. Wicketkeeper Dexter Solomon top scored with an unbeaten 62, while Kwame Crosse made 36 and Christopher Barnwell 31. Rutherford and Jacobs had three wickets apiece and Totoram Bishun two. Danny Narayan made 50; Ryan Shun 42 and Ershad Ali 26 not out for East Bank in the first innings. Suknanan had 3-35, Devon Lord 3-46 and Barnwell 2-33.
