TT crush Jamaica U-15s by 78 runs
Saturday, July 30 2016
Trinidad and Tobago beat Jamaica by 78 runs yesterday for their second win in the WICB Regional Under-15 tournament currently taking place at Progress Park, Grenada.
Batting first, TT posted a modest 172 for six from their 50 overs.
Anthonio Gomez gave the TT innings some impetus in the lower order with a knock of 49 not out from 56 balls to help rescue TT who were wobbling at 83 for five.
Aiding in the recovery effort was Jayden Seales who stroked a sedate 34 from 61 balls. Tariq Mohammed (21) and Rivaldo Ramlogan (18) chipped in as well.
Matthew Comerie (2/24) was the main wicket-taker.
In reply, Jamaica were suffocated by the bowling of Seales (3/33), Sameer Ali (3/22) and Ramlogan (2/14).
Jamaica were never in the run chase at 32 for six in the 18th over. Captain Romaine Jacob tried to save face with a knock of 31 from 69 balls but it was insufficient.
