He is the only Batsman to pile on 800 runs last 4 day Regionals.
Cheesy at second place ....was a hundred less :-[

And Cheesy has put up strong numbers in back-to-back years, he scored 737 runs in 2015 at an average of 46.06. Last two years combined: 1449 runs at an average of 48.30 with 5 centuries and 4 fifties.

Chase also put excellent numbers the last two years: 1525 runs scored at an average of 52.58 with 2 centuries and 11 fifties. He also took 32 wickets over this period at an average of 19.56. His pick in the squad was defensible and deserving. Blackwood, on the other hand, not so much, IMO.
Prior to the first Test, I would have selected Johnson and/or Singh ahead of Blackwood. Even more so now going into the second Test.

I shud have said it before...but I was impressed with Chases' debut.
Chase bowled long and well..bailed out west indies... otherwise Bishoo wud have had a dead spin fingah by now. and he did score a few runs on his debut.
I wud stick with him which is why I identified a problem with him if they going to a 3 prong pace at Sabina. they wont drop the captain although he is the one who shud be dropped first.
to go 3 prong and keep the captain then Carlos and Chase gone..or Blackwood.... who still deserves to play based on what he has done so far...unless he is identified to be currently of such poor frame of mind and form, that no success or rebound appears possible

My biggest concern with Blackwood is that he is very reckless, which doesn't lend itself to time spent in the middle. His Test average of 30.76 is boosted by one brilliant series against England (311 runs - which accounts for 39% of all his Test runs). If you remove that series, his average drops to 22.22 in 13 matches.
He has been thoroughly mediocre (at best) over the last two years in the Regional 4-Day tournament, averaging 29.72 in 19 innings with no centuries and 4 fifties.
