West Indies and Afghanistan Cricket Boards have agreed to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is in June, 2017 in West Indies. This will be the first time that two dynamic and entertaining sides of the Cricketing World face each other in a full series.
"Playing with Twenty20 champions will boost technical prospects for us,†Nasimullah Danish, Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board.
While CEO of the ACB, Shafiq Stanikazi, says “this is a major series with very attractive teams featuring some of the world’s best players. We look forward to some very entertaining cricket in T20 and ODI. On behalf of Afghanistan Cricket Board, I am very thankful to West Indies Cricket Board for agreeing to be hosts for the series.â€
WICB’s CEO, Michael Muirhead noted that “this series will add to the variety of cricket our teams will be playing for the next year and we are happy to be able to have teams visit the region to add exposure for all our players.â€
The series is due to start mid-June and the specific dates and venues will be announced in due course.

In my opinion, each and every team should be playing all the other teams at-least once every few years. This keeps the surprise element going and also ensures that the newer teams are getting enough exposure as well in order to become better and eventually would help the entire game of cricket since the game would continue to expand more and more.
Looking forward to this series. I hope Afghanistan would give a tough fight.
