He was pulled in to bat at 3 and take Bravo's spot when Bravo couldn't go to South Africa.
Then Bravo came back and Leon got bumped off.
He then failed domestically and the selectors put Blackwood on the team instead. Leon replied by doing well domestically this year, but Blackwood did well vs England also. Now, with Blackwood sucking domestically and internationally, and Leon failing in 4 successive warm up games, the selectors are torn between going back to Leon, or turning to the Bajans.
So there's a kind of logic to the confusion of the selectors.

Holder said that the current Test side is a young one and they also have their pride at stake. “I think it boils down to personal pride. Roston, Shane Dowrich and Rajendra Chandrika, myself, Jermaine Blackwood, we are all quite young players. We are all looking to make a mark in the international circuit. “For us its just personal glory, personal pride. That’s what each person coming to Test cricket is looking to do. I think all of us want to do that. I think we need to come up with a strong collective effort.â€
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
