On what to expect from Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels, the two most experienced batsmen
Ideally that’s what we would expect from top-order batsmen (to get runs). To be fair, they have to carry the demands of this young batting side. Unfortunately, Bravo didn’t get any runs in this Test. Marlon showed some form in the second innings. (It’s) important for those two guys to carry the batting and lay the foundation. But I couldn’t agree more with you that onus is on them. Having said that, we have more enough capable batsmen.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Could NOT agree more.
Whilst fellow posters want the axe on Samuels
and Bravo out for a period of inner reflection
We just gotta wait for their batting class to surface !

my sense of ll Bravo is that he can score but needs help around him..he cant do it alone although in India and Kiwi he did do it alone. he cant keep that up.
but it seems to me also the emotional ambience of the team. I don't think this team feels good about itself or about west indies cricket... or care very much to go out there and pull out all the stops.
the older teams had respect for the region, played for the west indian nation. the wicb has not maintained that. they feel they must now play for the wicb which is totally unworthy of their sacrifice and commitment .
this west indies team is going nowhere. west indies cricket is at its lowest ebb ever.
and as soon as Gayle, Big B, Pollard, Narine, Russell, Sammy etc are gorne the limited overs teams will fall and that will be that.
our recent limited overs success is not a rebirth but an end to all that flowed great in west indies cricket. there are no players to replace those good guys..and our administration is not about keeping our cricket at the top. our cricket is at an end

its the west indies man..and how we all stop as a result of what we went through to this day.
we all have our separations and and poles and are guided by those.
the west indies as a 'nation' is now nutten to anyone in the region.
and when we work for the west indies we operate according to those poles..or follow the borse and his particular pole..but never FOR THE WEST INDIES.
THE WEST INDIES IS NOW A GRAVY TRAIN FOR THIS OR THAT CORPORATION OR BUREAUCRACY WHO NOW WORK HAND IN HAND TO BLEED THE REGION
OTISCOMES IN AND HE HIMSELF IS NASTY AND ANTI REGION. BUT AT THE WICB HIS BOSS IS hUNTER WHO HAS HIS OWN PARTICULARIZED POLE THAT GUIDES HIM. AND THAT GUIDE LED HIM TO HIRE OTIS..NOT SIMMONS... BECAUSE HE REALIZED OTIS WOULD BE AMENABLE TO HIS PROGRAM.
SO TWO ARSEHOLE ANTI WEST INDIANS CAME TOGETHER WITH A PROGRAM TO SCREW THE NATION.
but in england there is the english nation and we know what that is. there is no option and opportunity for Otis to screw up there. the ambient is to work for england. there is no space between that concept and and its expression in reality for there to be west indian like ocrruption.
so in there Otis must do his his job and nothing else. he must shine, be effective or lose it. that is how everybody up in there operates..for the nation for real.
so Otis is a good bowling coach and that is what he must do there..period..and according to english standards, in an english reality that he respected(respects) from the start, over and above the west indian reality.
dat at least is the way I see it...aty this point

There are people who performed differently for different bosses. Otis Gipson was one such individual.
West Indies need a strong disciplined leader like Viv Richards. Such a leader must have full control like Mr. Gipson had. Why was Viv not given such broad authority when he was manager?
Selector Browne should resign!
