Marlon's never going to be dropped from the Test team, is he?
What was the qualification period for these awards?
Assuming that only international numbers are taken into consideration for the T20 player of the year award, Gayle can consider himself rather lucky. Fletcher had a higher average, scored more runs and notched more 50s.

Most on this forum have been calling for Marlon to be dropped from the Test team.
It's the T20 World Cup win that's keeping him on. With his tournament winning knock, he bought a few extra inches of rope to hang or redeem himself with.
