TT Under-17 vie for third straight victory

TRINIDAD AND Tobago Under- 17 cricket team will be going all out to maintain their winning streak when they take on Leeward Islands in the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Under-17 Tournament Third Round match at the Inshan Ali Park, Preysal today.
Trinidad and Tobago are seeking to regain the regional title that they won in 2013. And judging from their impressive performances against defending champions Windward Islands and Jamaica in the first two matches, the homesters a highly favoured to register their third consecutive win in as many matches.
Cephas Cooper has been the outstanding batsman so far with a match-winning 57 against Windwards in the opening round which was followed by an unbeaten 33 when Trinidad and Tobago crushed Jamaica by eight wickets at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) on Tuesday.
In the other matches, Guyana will also be pushing to stay in contention for the top prize after having registered two convincing wins over Leeward Islands and Barbados.
Today, they will do battle with Jamaica in a Third Round fixture at the NCC in Balmain, Couva while the Windwards, who defeated the Leewards in the Second Round at Gilbert Park in California, will fancy their chances to getting the better of Barbados at Gilbert Park.
All matches starts at 9.30 am.
