The Captain mentioned this in the
Team selection thread
, but figured this deserves its own thread.
Jerome Taylor has announced his retirement from Test cricket in order to focus on playing the shorter formats of the game.

The timing of the announcement would certainly seem to indicate that. Although he has struggled in his last two Test series, he still has a bowling average of 34 over the last 2 years and a strike-rate of 58.

Taylor must be the last West Indian to truly retire from test cricket via announcement since Courtney Walsh in 2001. All the others got dropped or were informed they wont be selected.

About time so now I think his international should be over.
Sadly his injuries curtailed what could have been a spectacular career and I am sure the shenanigans of the WICB did not help.
Go well.
