I wud not pick shai hope with improvement of the batting in mind.
I don't think Hope is very good. Hope is more batsman than keeper. Hope would need to double up as batsman what he causes as keeper for there to be value in his selection
I wud rather go with Dowrich who seems a fighter who will give west indies many fifties at #7. no higher!
but the team batting principle remains the same. if the first 6 cant do the batting job required how in the hell can #7 be expected to do it..whether he is the keeper or an all rounder ::confused:: ::confused::
if hope is pik as batsman keeper, then he would be among the first 6. and if he cant do it there the lesser #7 would not be able to do it too.
and if you put hope at #7 the question I asked is relevant: how good is he ::confused:: he has been picked as batsman and has failed every time. so we give him the gloves now and bat him from 1 to 7 ::confused:: and expect what ::confused::
to me its impossible to improve west indies batting even if we played 11 batsmen. that 11 would include a hierarchy from #1 to 11 in descending order. and if our best is Samuels/Braithwaite what in the hell will #11 be ::confused::
the answer is to maintain the structure regardless: 2 openers, the best batsman at #3 and so on to #6..keeper and bowlers.. AND TO GO OUT AND DEVELOP WORLD CLASS PLAYERS WHILE PUTTING IN PLACE A PROPER ADMINISTRATION OF THE CRICKET AND THE TEAM

This is the real solution and crux of the matter at hand. Everything else is just a temporary Band-Aid solution, akin to shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic.

Methink the talent to get us back up the ladder is there.
The SElectors and their corrupt insular behavior is the Problem.
Courtney Browne is obscene in his behavior to Ramdin !
No one can do anything about it !!

WICB said that Ramdin was "sanctioned" for his outburst in relation to his non-selection.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

This makes no sense. Then why is it that Evin Lewis and other batsmen and bowlers in the region that performed highly in our Super 50 and PCL last year not in the squad? He selected players with inferior regional and international stats to those guys. He talks about Ramdin's average, despite Ramdin being the best wicket keeper batsman the WI ever had stats wise, and selects someone with an even more inferior average. Poor poor selections Mr Browne. Selectors seem to only bring up stats and averages when they are looking for a reason to drop someone, but not as a criteria to pick someone

There was a time when it was part of West Indies Cricket Board’s (WIBC) protocol to allow the chairman of selectors to meet the press and field questions about their selections. It should continue to happen consistently.
