Should be a good tournament. Plenty of overseas talent on show, including the likes of Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, Dale Steyn, Shahid Afridi, Dwayne Bravo, Aaron Finch, Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Martin Guptill, Chris Morris, Kumar Sangakkara, Mustafizur Rahman, Kagiso Rabada, Wahab Riaz, David Wiese, Tino Best, Adam Voges, George Bailey, Ravi Rampaul, Jackson Bird, Rilee Roussouw and Umar Akmal.

It's a shame that Stokes, Willey and Topley are all injured and will miss significant parts of the tournament, but there are plenty of other good youngsters including the Curran and Overton brothers, Mason Crane, Zafar Ansari, Matthew Dunn, Aneurin Donald and Dan Lawrence.
Surrey are playing Glamorgan today. The Surrey team has a lot of good youngsters in their squad, the aforementioned Curran brothers, Ansari, Dunn and Jason Roy. On the other end of the spectrum, Gareth Batty and Kumar Sangakkara have a combined age of 77.

Am surprised Somerset still took Gayle after Australia dumped him.
Renegades will not bring him back.

Glamorgan, sans Dale Steyn bowled a very good Surrey lineup out for 98. They then went and tonked off the runs with more than 7 overs remaining. Impressive win.

Hampshire were demolished by Middlesex yesterday. Sammy didn't play, though Tino Best did. Unfortunately, he got lit up like a Christmas Tree. He took some serious licks.

The Sussex/Somerset match was a good one. Gayle looked awfully cold in the field! Tymal Mills was electric. He was like lightning. Good to see Luke Wright scoring big. He an feel very hard done by to have been left out of the World T20 squad. How impressive is Jayawardene? In the com box a few days earlier for the Test match and then goes out and strokes a classy fifty.

He was rapid. Seriously impressive stuff. Mid-90s fastball coupled with a brilliant back-of-the-hand mid-60s slower ball. It's a shame he can't play first-class cricket any more, but if his back holds up, he will have a very bright T20 future. With Willey and Topley out injured, I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the England side for the upcoming T20 against Sri Lanka at the Rose Bowl.
