Keaton Jennings' resolute century steered Durham to a four-wicket victory over Warwickshire before lunch on the final day of their Specsavers County Championship match at Edgbaston.

Fantastic win for Hampshire over Nottinghamshire. Rather unexpected too without Vince and very little in the way of a seam attack. Young Mason Crane picked up six wickets in the match while Tino Best matched him with six of his own. An exciting finish.

Essex were denied the chance to push for a third win in the County Championship this season as the weather only allowed six overs to be bowled on the final day against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
The 12 points Essex took from the draw did extend their lead at the top of Division Two, however. Northants, after a fourth-straight draw at home this season and sixth stalemate in seven matches, took 11 points.

Varun Chopra returned to the team in the most spectacular style with a brilliant unbeaten 97 to power Birmingham Bears to a nine-wicket NatWest T20 Blast win over Durham at Edgbaston. Selected for his first Blast game of the season after Sam Hain was laid low by food-poisoning, Chopra blasted 97 from 58 balls, with eight fours and five sixes, to thunder his team past a modest target with 14 balls to spare.
His explosive work meant Durham failed to build on their 66-run win over Nottinghamshire two days earlier. They managed only a below-par 154 for 9 on a good batting pitch, having found it hard going against an attack strengthened by the return of Chris Woakes and Rikki Clarke, who finished with a combined 8-1-50-5.

England all-rounder Adil Rashid has signed a new three-year contract with county champions Yorkshire.
The 28-year-old leg-spinner, who began his career with the White Rose in 2006, helped them win the County Championship in 2014 and 2015.
"I love representing my county and I hope to win more silverware with them," said the Bradford-born player.

Listening to that match on the radio was brutal. Hampshire picked up 4 quick wickets to seemingly turn the match around but Essex kept fighting and their deep batting lineup pulled them over the line with some big hitting at the end.
It is going to be a long year watching Hampshire this year. They are devoid of enough talent in the four-day game (losing Vince to England is only going to exacerbate this) and the limited overs side is very unbalanced. Typically, they have been one of the better one-day sides in county cricket, but I can't see any hope of them making much noise this year.
