I think that the day/night tests are going to be a staple part of cricket for the foreseeable future as its definitely something that's got a lot of attention and what people are talking about.
Most people agree that test matches need to be improved, and it looks like this is the most favourable way to do it up to now.

Like ketch said, lets wait until we have a few more day/night Test matches before proclaiming this to be the future of Test cricket. While the interest might be there on the surface, if the pink ball can't hold up and pitches need to be artificially tailored to prevent this, I am not sure this is a long-term solution.
We are going to need to see how the ball holds up, the results of the Test matches, how the ball reacts at night, especially in India with the dew factor, whether players can actually see the ball, and how attendances and ratings plan out over an extended period of time.
Also needed to be taken into consideration is the fact that the players' enthusiasm for the pink ball is hardly universal - many have expressed doubts about the concept and the quality of the ball.
Personally, I would rather just introduce a two table Test championship.

The Australia/New Zealand day/night Test started at 2pm. The Tea break took place from 4pm-4:20pm and then a Dinner break from 6:20pm-7pm and close of play at 9pm.
