Sri Lanka seamer Dhammika Prasad is set to have a scan after a shoulder injury forced him out of the attack in the drawn tour match against Essex.
He is a doubt to face England in the first Test at Headingley from 19 May.
The 32-year-old was unable to complete his 18th over on day two of three at Chelmsford, where Sri Lanka drew their tour opener after a washout on Tuesday.
Sri Lanka were 42-2 in their second innings - 116 behind - but the weather had the final say.
Angelo Mathews' team have one further three-day match scheduled, against Leicestershire starting on Friday, before they head to Leeds for the start of the three-Test series.
England are set to name their squad on Thursday morning.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

While this would indeed be a big loss for Sri Lanka, England were already heavy betting favourites before this. They were 2/5 to win the first Test with Sri Lanka at 10/1. Of course, England were also favourites to win the home series against Sri Lanka in 2014 and we all know how that turned out, though admittedly, that SL squad did feature Jayawardene and Sangakkara.
