I am tired of effing Lloyd and others with this politically correct crap that puts sacrifice for the country up as this big deal..that the players are evil if they do ot sacrifice their money making careers for the country...
that is patent nonsense.
WHO SACRIFICES FOR THE COUNTRY..WHO NECESSARILY MUST SACRIFICE FOR THE COUNTRY[/i ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::
The people who are required to sacrifice for the country are poor and ordinary people. and their sacrifice always require them to risk their lives, or work for less or next to nothing at all. their rewards are always full of glory but at the same time always very insubstantial in the means by which life is secure..money, wealth, property.
who gets the money ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::
those who 'administer' what those who sacrifice does, the activity from sports to war. those who push the paper and the pens, who do literally nothing at all have control of the proceeds of all activities and monopolize it for themselves leaving pittances for those who risk life and limb, give the best time of their lives to the activities that bring the proceeds.
what that amounts to is not sacrifice for the nation but sacrifice to the pockets of those who run the nation, who risk nothing at all yet wlk away with the largest part of the wealth of the nation.
Lloyd and company are engaged in unconscionable behavior, insupportable behavior, in this day and age when we have come to understand so much about society and the consequences of this truly egregious social relationship on which society is based..in which they majority are expected to sacrifice so that a minority that controls can lionize the wealth of society.
it is not that T20 is most suited to the west indian mentality and general attitude. the west indian mentality is nothing if it is not adaptable and so can adjust to whatever is required for survival.
in the financially parlous state the wicb admin has created in west indies cricket for the players it is not worth playing for the west indies at all. it is a waste of tie to play for the west indies. the wicb has imposed a form of slavery on west indies cricket that is reprehensible, disgusting and out of this world to imagine that black people would come today and impose a slavery on our own selves given our history over the past 500 years at the hands of europe.
achievement even of the nominal independence we won in 1962, brought with it the promise that wewould do better by our own selves... not re-enslave ourselves. but this is exactly what the wicb has done to our cricketers. and such as Lloyd are spokesmen for that disgusting state of affairs, that now exist in west indies cricket. Frank Worrell must be a-roil in his grave.
west indian players have an absolute right to make the best use they can of their time, the prime time in their lives, in response to their grave responsibility to provide for themselves and their families. they cannot afford to be sidetracked into sacrificing this responsibility in the presence of opportunity to do a lot better than what the wicb offers..which is a waste of time, an insult to every aspect of conscious relative moral existence...what the wicb offers the players..what the wicb itself is in fact as an administrative entity.
west indian players will be good at any format, competitive always if the situation at home is good. west indian players will play all forms of the game in representation of the west indies if they are paid properly, and the administrative situation positive, progressive.
I am sure Russell would have been playing test cricket if the administration of west indies cricket was in tune with the needs of the regional game. there is no doubt in my mind that he would have made the effort to evolve a way in which he could in fact play test cricket without destroying his body

There we go again the problem in West Indies cricket continues. These unfortunate situations as that of the injury to Russell only seem to add more fuel to the fire. There always seem to be some sort of problem or controversies surrounding these matters. It's unfortunate that Russell, such a talented play is being dogged by this injury which it seems may be limiting his ability to participate in all formats of the game. What I would like to have is a clear understanding of the situation the concerning the level of participation Russell will be able to give because of his injury. I am somewhat tired of the backbiting its time the stakeholder's in West Indies cricket sort out themselves.
