Michael Carberry's century gave Hampshire the edge against Middlesex, whose skipper Adam Voges was taken to hospital with suspected concussion.
The Australia international left the field after being struck on the head by a throw from the boundary.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

I noticed that Voges still hasn't played since being hit on the head 9 days ago against Hampshire. He was not in the lineup for the match against Nottinghamshire and haven't heard anything more on how he is progressing. It will be interesting to see whether he is in the side for the next match against Surrey a week on Sunday.
Middlesex did announce that George Bailey will join the team at the end of June as a replacement for Voges, who is expected to be on international duty with the Test team in Sri Lanka.

Given his age - almost 37 - and that he was critical of the selectors after he was dropped, I think his time has come and gone.
He was very harshly treated, IMO. The selectors gave up on him far too soon. He didn't even fare that poorly on that disastrous tour of Oz - he ended up England's third-highest run-scorer. He got himself in but was never quite able to go on and make a big score.
I am a firm believer of players being given at least two Test series to prove themselves, especially an opener - which is why I believe Hales should be Cook's opening partner for the upcoming series with Sri Lanka.
