While going through some of my old
New Musical Express newspapers last night, I came across this photo of Eddy Grant and Mike Gatting, taken to promote Eddy's
Born Tuff album. I would love to know the backstory behind this photo. Thought this was an appropriate place as any to share this.

I know he relocated to Barbados and in the mid 80s worked with
Rolling Stones in prep for that awesome Steel Wheels tour.
Is that pic in Bim ?
Were we playing England on a tour , there ?

I asked a friend about this and he believes the photo was taken at Grant's own recording studio in Barbados in March 1986 during England's tour of the West Indies. Prior to the third Test, England played a warmup match against Barbados in Bridgetown. Eddy invited Gatting to hang out with him at his studio.
That was a rough tour for Gatting. He broke his nose courtesy of that Marshall bouncer and then broke his thumb in that warm up match in Barbados after getting hit by Vibert Greene.
