Two camps with West Indies legend Alvin Kallicharran that will bring communities together and promote youth and women’s cricket development in the Midwest are confirmed for the first two weekends in April.
The camps will be held on April 2-3 for American Cricket Academy of St. Louis (ACA) members only in St. Louis and 9-10 in Fishers, Indiana, for Indiana youth cricket academy members only (hosted by Jitesh Bhate of Indiana Youth Cricket). Last summer, a group of young players began team building and continued their weekly indoor practices at Fishers Sports Academy. New youth members are welcome to join the academy.
These camps are being organized due to the growing and persistent demands for the youth cricket in the Midwest, mainly Indiana and Missouri. Legend Alvin Kallicharran will be visiting Indiana for the second time, after his initial youth and women’s cricket launch trip in 2014, while this will be Kallicharran’s first visit to Missouri.
Besides Kallicharran, Jatin Patel, (USYCA, ACF & USAGCA) a pioneer in cricket education in schools, colleges and universities will also attend with a team of certified volunteer coaches, and will be available to give personal attention to each and every child attending the camps.
Besides youth and women’s development and training camps, there will be ‘Meet and Greet’ events on April 3 in St. Louis and April 8 in Indianapolis. The ‘Meet and Greet’ events will offer opportunity for all to interact and take photos, as well as provide a chance for coaching tips from the legend.
Directing the camps are Jitesh Bhate, Sandeep Kukreja and Ajay Lakhe in Indiana and Ajay Jhamb and Susan Harris in Missouri.
