National left arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh snatched 12 wickets yesterday to put Powergen in a winning position against Alescon Comets at the end of day two in the T&T Cricket League three-day competition at the Powergen Ground in Penal.
Replying to the Powergen first innings score of 342, Comets was skittled out for 137 with Kantasingh grabbing 7/76. Rohan Primus continued his solid form with the bat this season top scoring with 57.
Comets again failed to handle the spin of Kantasingh in the second innings closing on 205/8, leaving the scores level. Kantasingh took 5/57 in the second innings, while Kenroy Williams is unbeaten on 74 for Comets.
The match was abandoned yesterday between Victoria and FC Clarke Road due to a poor outfield at the Barrackpore West Secondary School.
