New Zealand won by 47 runs with 11 balls to spare :-[
18.1
Milne to Nehra, OUT, it's all over, Milne bowls it full and straight, the batsman backs away and poke,
exposing his stumps. Milne rattles them to complete an incredible victory for New Zealand

Santner is MoM
India remain winless in T20 internationals against New Zealand, having lost five in five.
Kane Williamson read this pitch perfectly.
Hats off to the New Zealand management.
Sodhi, Santner and McCullum have beaten India at their own game
and a humbling defeat it is. ..

What a win for New Zealand. Their bold gamble of playing three spinners and leaving out Boult and Southee was justified. Amazing result given the small target they had to defend.
This win has opened up this group completely. If all pitches are going to turn like this one, it is going to be imperative for teams to bat first. That was some prodigious turn on offer, reminiscent of the recent India/South Africa Test series.

It's interesting that this was the only match in Group 2 scheduled for Nagpur, though West Indies will play two group matches there (against South Africa and Afghanistan). I will be curious as to whether West Indies opt to play all three of Badree, Benn and Nurse in these two matches. Much like Trini mentioned in the other thread, I think this is the way to go.

I think there can be a lot of excuses made for India, but I think all of the credit needs to go to New Zealand in this game. They were the underdog and not expected to do anything against India but right from the start with their team selection, they took the fight to them, and came out worthy winners.
Only time will tell how much of a dent that will put into India's confidence from now on, but all credit to New Zealand's team, because aswell as out playing them, they out thought them aswell.

Certainly. I never expected India to lose. Bowling them out for 126, India should have been cruising with victory. The spinners of NZ did well and all credit goes to Nathan and his crew. It was an unexpected decision and Ind were in a better position to beat Southee and Bolt rather than them.
