Bravo to launch ‘Champion’ World Cup anthem

Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, in addition to gearing up for ICC World Cup T20, is all set to globally launch his official World Cup Anthem titled, “Champion” in partnership with India’s leading digital agency VEGA Entertainment “Champion” references a number of Caribbean and international figures from all arenas whom Bravo considers champions in their own right.

Shot in downtown Los Angeles, the video for Champion was directed by Joseph Fernando of Content Productions. It is the follow-up single to widely popular Indo/Anglo fusion song called, Chalo Chalo, and the star T20 cricketer is ready to create a stir once again with his music.

DJ Bravo and VEGA Entertainment will launch his anthem primarily to the South Asian market, and it will be officially unveiled at a star-studded event in Mumbai on March 14, a few days before West Indies play their first game.

Speaking on the occasion of the signing, Bravo said, “I feel truly blessed.

I never thought my passion for music could have gone this far and I’m excited to explore DJ Bravo, the entertainer. It means a lot to me to launch an anthem that I believe will be well loved during this World Cup, especially as it may be my last. It means even more to be able to pay tribute to people who have inspired me to truly be a champion over the years. I hope it encourages everyone to find their own champion within. The VEGA Entertainment partnership is great for this song and is a great fit and I assure my fans of many exciting things to come during this campaign.” Commenting on the project, Vikram Raju, CEO of VEGA Entertainment said: “As one of the biggest digital companies in India, it is truly a pleasure to join forces with DJ Bravo. His fan-following in India has escalated to another level ever since his special appearance in the song ‘Yenda’ in Tamil film, ‘Ula’ and last year with ‘Chalo Chalo’.

VEGA is absolutely privileged to acquire the distribution rights for this single and we are excited to release to his fans across Asia.” ‘Champion’ will not only be a fixture during the World Cup but will also feature at the India Premier League (IPL) 2016 season with Bravo’s new team, Gujarat Lions.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
