Parkites register two-wicket win

QUEEN’S PARK registered a two-wicket win over Victoria yesterday on the final day of the First Round of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TT CB) National League Premiership.
At the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Victoria, resuming their second innings on 205 runs for six wickets (they made 149 in the first innings with the Parkites replying with 189), were dismissed for 256.
Ace off-spinner Sunil Narine took four wickets for 51 runs for the hosts, while Terrence Hinds had 2/42 and Tion Webster 2/56.
For Victoria, Ranga Latchana scored 61 while Shirvon Sankar had 32 and Satrochan Rambarran 30.
Set 217 to win, the Parkites reached 220/8 despite a haul of 6/79 from ex-Windward Islands and West Indies left-arm spinner Garey Mathurin. The hosts were led by 51 from Nicholas Pooran, 45 from Petrock Nicholas, 36 from Marlon Barclay, 27 from Narine and 23 from Webster.
