Trinidad and Tobago Red Force struck some early blows but let Guyana Jaguars off the hook as the Guyanese rallied from 85 for six to close day one of the sixth round Professional Cricket League four-day match yesterday at Guyana National Stadium, Providence, on 204 for seven.
Red Force pacer Marlon Richard grabbed three for 31 while his new-ball partner Rayad Emrit snatched two for 41 to topple the strong Guyana top order before Vishaul Singh hit an unbeaten 88 and Veerasammy Permaul fell three short of a half century helped the hosts recover.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Rajendra Chandrika were both bowled by Emrit while Assad Fudadin was bowled by Richards to give T&T the upper hand. Skipper Leon Johnson fell via the run out route before off-spinner Jon Russ Jaggesar, making his first class debut, trapped Raymon Reifer lbw to pick up his first wicket at this level before the Guyanese fought back.
