The last match was an utter disaster for the Indian batsmen after their record breaking series whitewash over Australia. It seemed they were still struggling to adjust to the different conditions and looked severely underprepared, with the batsmen getting out to false shots and soft dismissals. The bowling however is still doing well. The batting will look to set the record straight in the second match.
The other cause of worry has been the poor outfield at Ranchi, with several parts of the ground not having grass cover and the ground itself being extremely dry. The outfield is expected to be very slow which means the batsmen have to rely on playing big shots to get runs, while the fielders have to be extra careful while diving otherwise they stand a risk of being injured
