Hampshire's Liam Dawson is a surprise inclusion in England's 15-man World Twenty20 squad. I like this move. I think he offers more than Chris Woakes, especially in India, though one could perhaps argue that Stephen Parry or Samit Patel would have been the better option as third spinner.
Chris Jordan is named in the squad ahead of Stuart Broad, while Billings gets the nod as backup wicketkeeper over Jonny Bairstow. For me, I would have gone with Broad and Bairstow. Jordan is a wonderful fielder but he leaks runs at an alarming rate. Liam Plunkett can also feel a little hard done by not to make the final squad. Given his ability to play spin, James Taylor can also feel slightly aggrieved, though his omission goes to show England's current batting depth. Words that haven't been uttered in a while.
