Off-spinner Sunil Narine showed off his remodelled action yesterday in Queen's Park Cricket Club's 32-run win over First Citizens Clarke Road United in the opening round of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Premier 1 Sunday League 50-over competition at Wilson Road in Penal.
English bowling coach Carl Crowe, who has been working with Narine to rehabilitate his action, was happy with what he saw yesterday and feels Narine's target of returning to international cricket for the ICC World Twenty20 in March is very realistic.
“So far so good,†said Crowe during the match.
“It has been slow progress but there has been progress. I think we are making some good progress. I think it is realistic. The way we are going, I see no reason why he can't do the testing before the ICC World T20,†Crowe added.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

I am pleased with what I am hearing, however, the big concern is if Narine's remodeled action can stand up to the scrutiny of the testing panel. I really hope he will pass the test and be declared fit to continue bowling at the national and international level.
The West Indies T20 successes in the near past had relied heavily upon the participation of Narine in the bowling department, so I am relly looking forward to his return to the team.

When a bowler has to remodel the way he bowls I often think he tends to lose something at the same time. The ball doesn't seem to release as smoothly as if they're trying a little too hard and thinking too much about what they're doing.
I hope this new action works out for Narine, but I also hope it doesn't affect how potent his bowling will be in the future. Only time will tell.

I can only take from that comment that your not exactly a massive fan of Narine then, or his style of bowling?
At the end of the day I think only he knows himself what's been going on, and seeing as he's gone away to so called work on his action, maybe he can be given the benefit of the doubt?
I did say maybe by the way because I'm sure a lot won't be forgiving.
