Da Silva, Cooper hit hundreds in N Zealand

Young batsmen Cyphas Cooper and Joshua Da Silva both scored centuries to lead the T&T Under-17 Invitational cricket team to a crushing 225-run victory over Queenstown Otago Invitational XI in their recent clash at Otago.
Batting first, the T&T Invitational racked up an impressive 341/4 off 50 overs with Naparima College student Cyphas Cooper hitting 141 not out and Da Silva stroking 101.
The impressive Cooper faced 128 balls and struck eight fours and two sixes, while Da Silva’s 103 came off 84 balls and included 12 fours. Towards the end of the innings, Saiba Batoosingh 30 and Navin Bedassie 29 contributed as well. When Queenstown Otago batted, they fell for 116 all out off 31 overs with Henry Burns scoring 40.
The men doing the damage for the T&T U-17 Invitational team were Ashmead Nedd who claimed three wickets for no runs and Jean Paul Rocke 2/18 and Saiba Batoosingh 2/18.
