West Indies Cricket Board CEO Michael Muirhead has received the report from an investigation into the allegations made last year by West Indies head coach Phil Simmons about outside influence in the selection of the West Indies squad.
In an interview with members of the media following the Nagico Super50 final at Queen's Park Oval on Saturday night, Muirhead said "I do have a report and I will do a release next week." The West Indies coach made the allegations during an interview ahead of the tour to Sri Lanka last year and was subsequently suspended before being reinstated ahead of the recently completed tour of Australia.
When the WICB announced Simmons' reinstatement, it also announced plans to launch an investigation into the allegations and to take "necessary and appropriate action". Muirhead was also questioned on the possible clash of dates with the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 (CPL) and the home series against India.
