I have been banging the Stephen Cook drum for a while now. I really thought he should have been given his debut at the start of this series.
I posted this in the gamethread, but is worthy of posting it again here: Cook is the 8th batsman over the age of 30 to score a century on debut. The other 7 are Grace, Aminul Islam, Griffith, Voges, Houghton, Milton and Collins. He is also the fourth-oldest.

Cook goes to Woakes
74.5
Woakes to Cook, got him! A touch of indecision as Woakes finds some lift outside off,
Cook thinks of playing, thinks of leaving, and splatters his own stumps with an inside-edge!
SC Cook b Woakes 115 (218b 14x4 0x6) SR: 52.75

After batting so well it was a bit of unglamorous way to get out I thought, but being an Englishman I'll take it.
Cook is a quality player and your right when you say his debut should really have come sooner than this.
