Compton chips one to du Plessis at short mid-on and England back in trouble again at 87/4. A soft dismissal. The pressure is building once again. It is going to be a very tense luncheon.
England have to bat until tea, another 35 overs or so. Even then, South Africa may fancy chasing 180 from the remaining 30 overs. The first hour after lunch will decide whether this ends in a draw or one of the most remarkable victories for South Africa.

Stokes and Taylor depart and England are on the verge of an epic collapse. 116/6. No team has ever scored 600 in the first innings of a Test and gone on to lose. England may very well be the first. :

A big break for England as Bairstow just about gets his boot back behind the line to avoid being stumped. In real time, he looked gone to me. It took an eternity for Rod Tucker to make a decision. Replays showed maybe a fraction of a millimetre of Bairstow's boot was just behind the line. England 151/6.

England make it to tea with 6 down and a lead of 157. If they can bat another 10 overs after tea you would imagine that would be enough for a draw. Still, it's England and anything can happen.

IF the Spinners Elgar and Piedt had continued :
Light would NOT have been offered to the Batsmen

More like the decision to bring on Morkel during Bad Light.
Umpires offered Light to the Batsmen..
Rain is now coming down ! :-[

I am sooprised with england. brittle centre still. maybe H'amla was rght declaring with 2 overs to go....he can tell chalk from cheese.
still safety fus' but these two sides look impsy..ot like test sides of old when it was safe t make solid predictions from afar. now its safer to tell what will happen in the back rooms than on the field
