The way Shivster is batting in the CPL suggests the selectors made the difficult but correct call.
It is not that Shiv only failed for 6 tests but it is the manner in which he failed, shaped up and the fear in his eyes.
Filling a gap a person like Shiv leaves takes time but the correct decision was made.
I do however think he should have been given the remaining tests, as it would not have made a difference to the outcome of the series, to say his goodbyes but Shiv would not have retired and ungracefully carried on.
He should retire from all cricket and hopefully the Guyanans or any other territory should utilise his immense experience, if not the WICB as their batting Coach.
