Ajmal earns PCB suspension after ICC rant

Pakistan suspended Saeed Ajmal’s contract on Thursday (November 12) over his comments about the way bowlers with illegal actions are dealt with.

Ajmal had lashed out at the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) process on the illegal action issue, claiming it singled out offspinners like him. He accused some other spinners and pacers of having a suspect action.

Confirming the board’s decision, Shaharyar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, told reporters, “We feel sorry over his comments.

“We have taken the minimum action on the violation of discipline and have suspended his contract, stopped releasing his salary and have asked him to explain his comments.”
