David Warner 244* - these are the most runs by anyone on first day of a Test match in past 80 years.

A good fight back from New Zealand that at least keeps them in the match. Kane Williamson continues to amaze. He is the backbone of this New Zealand team. As he goes, so goes New Zealand.

One good thing to come out of the Ashes is that Warner's technique and attitude has improved exponentially
Literally as good an innings as you would ever hope to see

Brilliant stuff from Williamson and Taylor today. All Williamson does is score runs. These two sure enjoy batting together, averaging 57.57. Ross Taylor will have his eyes set on Tip Foster's record score of 287 as an overseas batsman in Australia.
