After their Ashes defeat in England, Australia had Clarke, Chris Rogers, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and Ryan Harris retire from the longest format of the game.
Clarke feels the selectors will not chop and change the team if the new players fail at the start and that Shaun Marsh should replace Rogers as the opening batsman.
The 34 year-old Clarke said: "I think they will pick and stick. I think they will keep the faith. I think they probably need to now, because we've lost five guys (who) have walked away from our last series.
"I would like to see Shaun Marsh certainly get an opportunity. I still think he has got a lot of runs left in him."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
