Ireland have added former Zimbabwe captain Dave Houghton to their coaching staff for their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. Houghton will assist coach John Bracewell as a temporary batting coach for the ODI series.
The recent shift to hiring temporary batting coaches is an interesting move. I wonder if this will be the way forward in the future - teams having one main batting coach but getting outside assistance on away tours with batsmen experienced in those conditions. England have done this with Jayawardene and now Ireland have followed suit by hiring Houghton.

Phil Simmons may want to send in an application as well to get back his old job because his time in the West Indies may not last long with his style and that of the WICB dictators.

John Bracewell's contract runs until 2017. I find it very unlikely that Ireland would sack Bracewell, pay off his remaining contract and then re-hire Simmons.
