The days of a lethal four-prong pace attack in the regional side are long gone.
The fear of having to face up to four genuine quick bowlers, who can be devastating in any conditions.
The names Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Colin Croft, Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose:
on any team sheet would send shivers through opposition batsmen.

Currently, the regional side holds the likes of Jerome Taylor, Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and Jason Holder :
who are more of the constant names in the Test team.

The last time a paceman took a five-wicket haul in an innings was Taylor in June 2015 :
...........when he claimed 6-47 against Australia.
Prior to that, Roach had 5-42 against Bangladesh last year.
No other quick bowler has been able to achieve a five-for in an innings other than these two over the last two year.

Gabriel is still young in his international career, but the tall and robust player would be ideally suited
for the duties of fast bowling.
However, like many others who have come and gone, consistency continues to be the main issue.

Ronsford Beaton, who has played 26 First-Class games, has 47 wickets at an average of 33.82.
These figures for a young man, who is only 22, signals he is great prospect for the future,
but sooner rather than later a chance should be given to this young talent.

Indian star batsman Yuvraj Singh was in high praise of Beaton when the West Indies “A†team toured India in 2013.
“Beaton is the future fast bowler for the West Indies. He reminds me of Curtly.
Obviously, Curtly was great, but I think he has lot of potential,â€

Well you’re setting the bar pretty high. Michael Holding is without is one of the fastest bowlers ever to play the game and in my opinion the best ever. You’re talking about the “quartet,†it’s going to be very difficult to match these guys. I think that we will never see this again, not in this lifetime at least.
