His legend status surely came early. He is truly an inspiration.

He may have retired from International cricket, but Sangakkara is still a force to be reckoned with as evidenced by his 166 (his second highest ODI score ever) for Surrey in their semi-final match-up against Nottinghamshire. Surrey squeak through by four runs and will face Gloucestershire in the finals.

To use the old cliche, neither side deserved to lose. Brilliant effort from Notts after their terrible start. Now please go and win the final, Surrey.
But on a more personal stance,he could have served the country a few more yrs than playing county.
Sl surely would have needed him for at least another couple of years.

A great player and easily Sri Lanka's best test batsman of all time. I hope he plays in the ipl next year and also in the cpl if he doesn't quit all forms of cricket.

Sangakkara went unsold in this years IPL draft so it remains to be seen whether any team would be willing to draft him next year, even if he wanted to play. He has, however, agreed to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Australian Big Bash League this December.

he is th kind who plays the waiting game.IPL needs players who are swashbuckling and hit those powerful sixes.Team Owners prefer people like Gayle/Maxwell as they know, even if they shell out a fortune on them, they can claim it back, with advertisements and people will throng to watch them play.
