The Pakistan-born South African spinner Imran Tahir cannot wait to make his way in the South African test team as he has not played a test match since December 2014 against West Indies.
Imran Tahir wants to give 100% in test cricket and he is so serious about it that he thinks he will need sleeping pills if he did not perform well enough and did not give 100% in the test matches.
Imran Tahir has not been as impressive in Test matches, as he has been in the One-Day International matches. In ODI matches he has picked up 74 wickets in just 42 matches at an average of 21.50.
The spinner has an average of 46.39 when it comes to test cricket as he has picked up 43 wickets in 16 test matches. But Tahir vows to perform better in test cricket as well now and wants to improve his performance.
The 36-year-old said that it was his childhood dream to play the test cricket. He also said that he has a lot of respect for the test cricket and the test cap and would kiss it everytime it falls down.

I'm not sure how likely he is to get another chance. South Africa has had two spinners make test debuts in recent times and both ended up being man of the match in those games. As both are younger than Tahir it would be better if one or both could get an extended run in the hope that they could play for South Africa for many years to come.
