Chris Rushworth broke Ottis Gibson's record of 80 first-class wickets in a season for Durham on Sunday against Middlesex. Gibson recorded 80 wickets back in 2007 - his last year in cricket - at an average of 20.75.
Rushworth has been an excellent county bowler over the last three-years and can probably consider himself a little unfortunate to have never been included in the England setup at some point.
Two forgotten England players (Nick Compton and Graham Onions) also shined in this match.
I wonder if Ottis will be sending Rushworth a bottle of rum to celebrate the achievement?

Ottis was playing for Glamorgan in 1994 during Lara's 501. He played just two seasons with Durham, in 2006 and 2007. The Durham side that Lara faced in that match featured the likes of Simon Brown, David Graveney and Anderson Cummins.

West Indies gave a debut to Kenny Benjamin in 1992 :instead of the local boy Anderson Cummins.
The match was boycotted as a result, and one banner -
"No Cummins, no Goings" -
Cummins, who later played for Durham, did eventually play five Tests.
He then played for me and poster Snoopster club here in Toronto : the mighty Cavaliers.

Then he represented Canada !
