With a win today against New Zealand, Zimbabwe can secure an unlikely series victory. Their last series win came in May 2013 against Bangladesh. This would be their first series victory over New Zealand since
September 2000

Zimbabwe win the toss (their fifth in a row) and elect to bat. Sodhi keeps his place in the side for New Zealand though Colin Munro does come in for Jimmy Neesham.

Tough going for Zimbabwe early on with only Chibhabha offering any sort of resistance. 61/4 (16 ov).

NZ thrash zim.
They just waded into their bowling. They never really did put up a fight, like the bowling was never incisive.Just plain, hit me balls.
Maybe they were in the hangover of their last match victory that they didn't put any priority onto this.

Well I am happy for the New Zealand victory because it can't be good for a Zimbabwe series win for the likes of the West Indies where ranking is concerned. Hope the kiwis pull off the series win.

West Indies (88) are actually closer to New Zealand (110) in the ODI rankings than they are Zimbabwe (45). West Indies are 22 points behind New Zealand and 33 points ahead of Zimbabwe. West Indies would actually be better served with Zimbabwe winning the series.
